Before Yale, Rodríguez served as Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel (2011-2013) and taught at New York University School of Law. She clerked for Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor and Judge David S. Tatel on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. A Rhodes Scholar, she earned a Master of Letters in Modern History from Oxford University after her B.A. from Yale College in 1995.
At Yale, Rodríguez has held key leadership roles, including co-chair of the University Committee on Institutional Voice, co-director of the Global Constitutionalism Seminar, and faculty co-director of the Carol and Gene Ludwig Program in Public Sector Leadership. Elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2020, she also co-chaired President Biden’s Commission on the Supreme Court of the United States in 2021.
