‘There Is An Opportunity For You To Sort This Problem’

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayoseon Tuesday cautioned Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, against escalating his political confrontation with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Fayose issued the warning during an interview on Arise Television, stressing that reconciliation was a wiser option than prolonged conflict.

The former governor advised Fubara to tread carefully, noting that political battles often come with far-reaching consequences.

Fayose further told the Rivers governor that he could not undermine or neutralize the powers of the Rivers State House of Assembly, regardless of political disagreements.

According to him, the legislature remains a critical arm of government whose authority cannot be wished away.

Fayose said, “It doesn’t have to be said in spiritual, but it is an advanced warning. So I’m telling him that there is a window, there is ample opportunity for you to close this and solve this problem.

“The price for peace is cheaper than the consequences of war. If you don’t do it, it will only be left in the hands of God.

“Because you can’t take away the powers of the House of Assembly. During my first tenure, I inherited the House of Assembly of the APC in Ekiti.

“Because our election is the off-season election, it was a tough experience; they would have taken me out the second time. I had to use wisdom, carrots and sticks.

“I had to manage everybody for me to survive. So that’s what I meant by that.”
