Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification:
- Junior Secretariat Assistant: 10+2/XII or equivalent from a recognized board with proficiency in computer typing (35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi, corresponding to 10,500 KDPH/9,000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions per word).
- Junior Stenographer: 10+2/XII or equivalent with proficiency in stenography as per Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) norms (80 w.p.m. in English or Hindi).
- Age Limit (as of January 31, 2025):
- JSA: Maximum 28 years.
- Junior Stenographer: Maximum 27 years.
- Age relaxation applies: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 10 years for PwD (UR), 13 years for PwD (OBC), 15 years for PwD (SC/ST), and additional relaxations for ex-servicemen and CSIR employees as per government rules.
- Other Requirements: Candidates in government service or PSUs must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of document verification.
Selection Process
The selection process varies by post:
- Junior Secretariat Assistant:
- Written Examination: Two papers (OMR-based or Computer-Based Test, CBT):
- Paper I (Qualifying): Mental Ability Test (100 marks, 90 minutes, no negative marking).
- Paper II: General Awareness and English Language (150 marks each, 2 hours, negative marking of 1/3rd for wrong answers).
- Paper II is evaluated only for candidates meeting the minimum threshold in Paper I.
- Typing Test: Qualifying in nature, assessing computer typing proficiency (35 w.p.m. English or 30 w.p.m. Hindi).
- Final merit is based on Paper II marks for those qualifying both Paper I and the typing test.
- Junior Stenographer:
- Written Examination: Similar to JSA (Papers I and II).
- Stenography Test: Qualifying in nature, testing shorthand speed (80 w.p.m. in English or Hindi).
- Final merit is based on written exam marks for those qualifying the stenography test.
