New tvs raider 125 gets boost mode, dual disc

TVS Raider 125 2025 Update: Boost Mode and Dual Disc Brakes Debut in India – Price Starts at Rs 93,800

Imagine zipping through chaotic city traffic with a sudden burst of power that makes overtaking effortless, all while stopping on a dime thanks to twin disc brakes. That’s the thrill TVS Motor Company just unleashed with its revamped Raider 125, marking a game-changer for young riders craving more punch and safety in the 125cc segment.

TVS Raider 125 2025 update rolls out with segment-first innovations like Boost Mode with iGO Assist, dual disc brakes with single-channel ABS, and Glide Through Technology, aimed at dominating the premium commuter market. Priced aggressively from Rs 93,800 ex-showroom, this “Wicked by Design” bike targets Gen Z enthusiasts who demand tech-savvy performance without breaking the bank.

The launch, announced today in Hosur, builds on the Raider’s massive success—over a million units sold since 2021—by introducing the “Wicked Troika” of features. At its core remains the familiar 124.8cc, air-cooled, three-valve engine paired with a five-speed gearbox. It pumps out 11.2 bhp at 7,500 rpm and a class-leading 11.75 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, ensuring zippy acceleration with a claimed 0-60 km/h sprint in just 5.9 seconds.

What sets this TVS Raider 125 2025 update apart is the Boost Mode, powered by iGO Assist technology. Riders can summon an instant torque surge for quick getaways, uphill climbs, or lane-splitting maneuvers—perfect for India’s bumper-to-bumper roads. Complementing this is Glide Through Technology (GTT), which lets the bike creep forward smoothly at speeds under 10 km/h without constant throttle tweaks, slashing fuel use in gridlock and easing clutch fatigue for newbies.

Safety takes a leap with the debut of dual disc brakes in the 125cc class: a 240mm petal disc upfront and 200mm at the rear, both clamped by red calipers for that sporty vibe. Single-channel ABS on the front wheel prevents wheel lock-ups during panic stops, boosting confidence on wet or uneven surfaces. TVS engineers paired this with chunkier tires—90/90-17 front and 110/80-17 rear—for sharper cornering and better grip, whether carving canyons or dodging potholes.

Tech enthusiasts will geek out over the display options. The top-spec TFT variant flaunts a vibrant screen with over 99 features, including voice assist, turn-by-turn navigation via Bluetooth-linked SmartXonnect app, call alerts, and even crash detection. The more affordable reverse LCD cluster packs 85+ goodies, keeping riders connected without overwhelming the wallet. A follow-me headlamp adds nighttime flair, staying lit for a bit after you park.

Styling stays true to the Raider’s edgy roots, with a muscular fuel tank, split seat, and fresh dual-tone shades like metallic silver with red accents. Red alloy wheels scream speed, while the slim LED headlight and sculpted tail section keep it agile at 123 kg kerb weight. Fuel efficiency hovers around 56 kmpl, making it a daily driver that won’t guzzle your budget.

Aniruddha Haldar, Senior Vice President of Commuter & EV Business at TVS Motor, hailed the refresh as a “redefinition of what young riders seek.” He emphasized how Boost Mode and dual disc brakes elevate the Raider from fun commuter to performance beast, all while prioritizing safety and smarts. Early buzz from auto forums like Team-BHP echoes this, with users raving about the ABS upgrade as a “must-have” for urban warriors. Competitors like the Bajaj Pulsar NS125 and Honda SP125 now face stiffer rivalry, as TVS undercuts them on features without hiking prices much.

For Indian buyers, especially first-time two-wheeler owners in metros like Delhi and Mumbai, this TVS Raider 125 2025 update means safer, smoother commutes amid rising fuel costs and erratic traffic. It empowers college-goers and gig workers with pro-level tools—think effortless power for delivery runs or weekend joyrides—potentially cutting accident risks by up to 30% thanks to ABS, per global studies. Economically, it bolsters TVS’s hold on the youth market, where 125cc sales surged 15% last fiscal, and could ripple into more jobs at dealerships nationwide.

The two variants hit showrooms immediately: SmartXonnect Dual Disc at Rs 93,800 and TFT Dual Disc at Rs 95,600 (ex-showroom Delhi). Bookings are live online, with deliveries starting next week. TVS teases limited-edition Marvel collabs soon, keeping the hype alive.

Looking ahead, this Raider evolution signals TVS’s aggressive push into connected mobility, with whispers of electric variants by 2026. As rivals scramble to catch up, the 125cc segment braces for a wicked shake-up—riders, get ready to raid the roads like never before.
