This adapter is only compatible with vehicles that already have factory-installed Wired CarPlay or Android Auto. It does not work with aftermarket head units or cars without built-in wired systems.
Device may feel warm during use as the OS is running continuously, which is normal and does not affect performance. Operating temperature of the device is -20°C to +70°C.
This device will only convert wired Android Auto or CarPlay to wireless. It does not support playing Netflix, Youtube and other video apps on your car system.
This device doesn’t support playing FM along with CarPlay / Android Auto simutaneously.
Not compatible with BMW, Tesla, Skoda and Renault cars.Quick Setup Guide

  • Plug the CRUST device into your car’s wired CarPlay / Android Auto USB port. Note if your car has several ports, please be sure to plug the dongle into the port that is for wired Apple CarPlay.
  • Turn on WiFi and Bluetooth on your smartphone, pair with ‘smartBox-xxxx’, tap ‘Use CarPlay’ when prompted on iOS, and wait 15-40 seconds to connect.
  • After Bluetooth pairing, your phone will auto-connect to the ‘smartBox-xxxx’ WiFi and disconnect the Bluetooth. If the WiFi doesn’t auto-connect you can use the default password ‘88888888’ to connect.
  • After connecting, wait for a few seconds for the CarPlay / Android Auto interface to appear on your car’s screen.

Troubleshooting

General Fixes (For Both CarPlay & Android Auto)

  • Restart your phone and fully reboot the car system by turning off the ignition and starting it again.
  • Unplug then reinsert the CRUST device from the USB port.
  • Delete & re-pair Bluetooth: On your phone → Settings → Bluetooth → tap the device → Forget this device.
  • Reconnect from scratch.

For CarPlay

1. CarPlay not connecting or reconnecting incorrectly?

  • On your phone: Settings → General → CarPlay → [Find Your Car] → Forget This Car.
  • On your car screen: Remove/delete the paired phone/device.

2. No sound during calls or music?

  • On your phone: Swipe down to access Control Center → tap the audio output icon → select CarPlay as the output.

For Android Auto

1. Android Auto not connecting or behaving oddly?

  • Settings → Connected Devices → Android Auto → Previously connected vehicles → [Find Your Car] → Forget.
  • Clear app cache:
    • Settings → Apps → Google Play Services → Storage → Clear Cache & Storage → Manage Space → Clear All Data.
    • Settings → Apps → Android Auto → Storage → Clear Cache.

  • Update Android Auto and Google Maps apps.
  • Re-pair after clearing cache: First connect using a USB cable. Wait 2–3 minutes. Disconnect and try wireless connection again.

2. If the issue persists, check your car stereo’s resolution.

  • If the resolution is 1920×720, adjust the video resolution in the Android Auto app:
    • Settings → Connected Devices → Android Auto → Tap version 10 times → Tap the 3-dot menu → Developer Settings → Video Resolution. Set the appropriate resolution for your car.

3. Check if Wireless Android Auto is turned on

  • Settings → Connected Devices → Android Auto → Tap Version 10 times → Tap the 3-dot menu → Developer Settings.
  • Ensure Wireless Android Auto is enabled.
